Basil

Basil, do you love the smell? I love love love! I add basil into fried rice; stir fry basil leaves with minced pork, chilies and onions; add some fresh basil leaves into pasta; stir fry lala (clams) with chilies and basil leaves; stew chicken with basil leaves.......and many more!

So! Ideally, I should have basil plants in my garden. Yes I did. My mum used to plant basil in my garden when she came to visit me.  We bought basil leaves from wet market. The leaves were used to cook chicken. The stems (have to be old enough) were then soaked into water a few hours before planted into soil. The roots are easy to sprout out. Honestly speaking, basil is very easy to grow with minimal care. They just need water and sunlight, I barely fertilise. But, somehow the plant died :(
It could be due to not enough water during dry season. Ever since then, I could not find basil leaves to buy from wet market.

Last week, I got this tiny basil plant from my art teacher. This is the only plant my teacher has (she got it from her neighbour). Too precious!!! I swear to nurture this plant with extra love and care :p

Will update more about the plant's growth from time to time :)
